What to Expect
  • You are requested to wear appropriate cloths when entering many temples including temple of tooth relic in Kandy. If you are wearing sleeveless and shorts make sure to take extra scarf or cloth with you to wear when visiting temples.
  • Photography might not allow in the temples and monuments.
  • Sri Lankan foods are hot and spicy.
  • As you cover many district in this tour, depend on your time of travel you might find rain in some areas.
  • Long days with early starts and long trip on road
  • Packed days with continues sightseeing
  • A good level of fitness required to cover some sightseeing

Day 1Arrive in Colombo

Upon arrival, when you leave the airport terminal please look for your tour guide displaying a signboard with your name. Transfer to your hotel in Colombo. Spend the rest of the leisurely at your hotel.

Day 2Colombo

Begin your exploration with a tour around Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka.
The drive through the city will take you to the Fort and Pettah – the commercial area of the city and tree-lined Colombo – 07 Cinnamon Gardens. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmith’s shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal, dating back to 1749. The Independence Hall, B.M.I.C.H, see the replica of Avukana Buddha, the Independence Square and Gangarama Temple. 

Day 3Colombo - habarana

Today you will leave for another cultural – rich city, Habarana. 
The city considered as a convenient base to the main attractions such as national parks and many UNESCO World heritage sites. 
You are about to have an authentic experience by enjoying homemade lunch at local house.
In the evening, you will set off to visit the world famous 5th Century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of the island’s most awe-inspiring archaeological attractions. The fortress stands alone in the middle of jungle also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress.  On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool.

Day 4Polonnaruwa / Minnesrika National Park

Today you will get to explore the second capital of Sri Lanka,Polonnaruwa, where you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, temples and splendid statues of the Buddha. Many archeological sites here like Lankathilakaya and gal viharaya will take you to the glory days of Sri Lanka’s history.
Once completed you will drive back to Habarana and have authentic homemade Sri Lankan lunch at a village house.
The evening is reserved for wildlife. So, you will take a private 4×4 jeep safari in Minneriya national park. The park is well famous among elephant lovers as large numbers of elephants are attracted to grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season. Elephants gathered here is numbering around 150-200.

Day 5Dambulla Cave Temples - City Tour of Kandy

After breakfast you will be collected to go to the yet another marvelous city- Kandy where Sri Lanka’s most sacred attraction, the temple of tooth relic situated. 
En-route visit Dambulla Golden cave temple, a wealth of UNESCO World heritage site’s history goes back to 1st century BC.  This complex of five cave’s walls and ceilings are covered with beautiful ancient Buddhist paintings, one of the largest extents of cave paintings found in the world. 
Stop atSpice Garden at Mataleand see the luscious Cinnamons, Cardamoms, Pepper plants etc. You can also purchase your requirements of spices. Enjoy authentic – Sri Lankan cuisine made out of best of Sri Lankan spices.  
Continue to Kandy and then relax at the hotel.

Day 6Temple of the Tooth Relic / Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

Today you will get the chance to visit the royal garden of early Sri Lanka. Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya is the Sri Lankan’s largest and finest garden. Originally established as a pleasure garden for Kandyan nobility, the British transformed it into botanical gardens in 1821, laying the foundations for what it has become today. 
The city has lot to witness, so you will be going around and exploring the city, while gathering great experience to your journey.
In the evening visit the temple of tooth Relic ‘ Sri Lanka’s most prized possession.  Take a tour around the picturesque lakeside city, and witness the majesty of the last kingdom of Sri Lanka.
When the sun is setting, it is the time to enjoy a unique cultural show, the best opportunity to witness the greatness of country’s rich tradition and culture.  

Day 7Tea Plantation - Nuwara Eliya

Morning, travel by road to Nuwara Eliya stopping en-route at tea plantations in Nuwara Eliya.
Experience tea plucking with local tea pluckers, learn tea processing and have a cup of one of the finest “Ceylon Tea” with a delicious piece of tea-cake.
Evening is perfect to enjoy Hi-Tea at Grand hotel and then walk along Gregory’s lake.

Day 8Horton Plains National Park

Start early to drive with packed breakfast through the early morning mist to Horton Plains National Park, Sri Lanka’s highest plateau. The circular walk here is about 9.5 km takes a leisurely three hours to complete andwill take you to the spectacular World’s End – a sheer drop of nearly 1,000 meters into the valley below, as well as to a view of the picturesque Baker’s Waterfalls. This is a world apart from the rest of Sri Lanka, a landscape with a unique climate and ecosystem.Unless you get there early, the view from World’s End is often obscured by mist, particularly during the rainy season from April to September.
The early morning (between 6am and 10am) is the best time to visit, before the clouds roll in.
In the afternoon, relax back at your hotel or enjoy a walk through the tea plantations

Day 09Nuwara Eliya - Bentota via Kithulgala

Today you will head towards the coast to the beach area near Bentota.
If you have mind set to more adventures experience then stop at Kitulgala and enjoy white water rafting Stay three nights in Bentota

Day 10Visit Galle Dutch Fort

Late morning drive to Galle and enjoy a walking tour of the walled city of Galle, once the chief port of Ceylon. Influences of the Portuguese, Dutch and British can be found in the architecture and fortifications of the city. The area is well known for its handmade lace.
